Juba is a dynamic DJ and a child of the UK's Nigerian diaspora, who is celebrated globally for her genre-blending prowess and infectious energy. With a focus on African and diasporic sounds, Juba seamlessly weaves together genres such as Gqom, Kuduro, Baile Funk and Afrotech, whilst also drawing influences from sounds such as Hard Drum, Jersey Club and Techno. Since 2017, Juba has graced renowned global stages, including berghain/Panorama Bar, Nyege Nyege Festival, Group Therapy Copenhagen and Glastonbury Festival. Her exhilarating mixes for Boiler Room, Mixmag LAB and Keep Hush to name a few, alongside collaborations with artists like Pongo, have solidified her international presence as a revered and audacious DJ. In 2022, Juba co-founded her clubnight ọ́ kụ́ at Berlin's legendary Tresor, asserting herself as a key figure in one of Europe’s principle electronic music hubs. Committed to enriching musical landscapes, she hosts community-focused events in London with her DJ collective Boko! Boko!, promoting emerging DJs and gender balance in the music scene. As a multifaceted creative, Juba is also a resident on Berlin’s Cashmere Radio and London’s famed Rinse FM and has hosted for platforms such as Boiler Room, Ableton, Electronic Beats and Resident Advisor. In 2020, she independently produced the acclaimed Assurance documentary and podcast series, shedding light on the experiences of female DJs in the global south. Juba's commitment to using music as a powerful social tool extends beyond the decks; she spoke at ADE Green 2023 on storytelling as activism, has curated community and cultural projects and continues to leverage music for positive societal change.
