On Saturday, we will focus on the LGBTQ+ communities within nightlife and the music event industry. 

In western Europe, club culture has embraced queer identities more than ever.The legacy of the LGBTQ+ community in today’s music scene is fully acknowledged and collaborations between queer collectives and mainstream venues/institutions are becoming commonplace. 

But how do queer promoters navigate today’s music industry? What are their struggles? Where is the political battle located when there is a growing mainstream acceptance? How do they conciliate their need for economic sustainability with their political engagement? 

To tackle these questions we invited four queer collectives/promoters - Adonis (London), Buttons/Whole (Berlin), FATSABBATS (Brussels), & Maricas (Barcelona) - that shape today’s queer scene in Europe and the UK. This conversation is going to be moderated by Baxter M Halter.
