Islas scatters carefully selected vibrations, weaves together electronic gems,
creates sinuous and surprising sets. Floating in the limbo between dance music, delay pedals, ASMR, spoken word, movie scores, and ambient sounds, Islas plays with the
friction that exists when one record meets another, with the joy that erupts when sounds
come together to create the previously unheard.
after studying sculpture and installation, Ailsa Cavers aka Islas slowly drifted away from
the visual arts towards a growing interest in sound. Her artist name is a respectful nod to Eliane Radigue’s Islas Resonantes, important ambient work by the pioneering female electronic musician.

Having participated in the creation of belgian dance music label Basic Moves, and recently co-founding the PLANET collective, Islas is now opening up her repertoire to more dance-oriented sets, all the while conserving a passion for sampled and loopy vocals, wonky percussion, intoxicating breaks, and bird sounds.
